William R. Dean, DVM

William R. Dean, DVM - Fort Mohave, AZ“I really enjoy science, any science. I considered both human medicine and veterinary medicine. I decided on veterinary medicine because of the diversity in veterinary practice. I can be a surgeon and a dentist and see neonatal patients through geriatric patients. I am not restricted to one specialty as happens with human medicine. I love working with animals and the complexity of making a diagnosis for a patient who cannot talk to me.

“I hope to give my patients a healthy quality life with as little pain or suffering as possible. I am calm, patient and sympathetic – I like to gain as much information as possible from the physical examination and what little patient communication I receive. The majority of my patients are frightened, anxious and uncomfortable. They do not want to cooperate with examination or medical procedures, and this is where my patience becomes invaluable.”

When Dr. Bill isn’t caring for animals, he enjoys computer role-playing games, building plastic models and watching science fiction, fantasy and adventure movies with his family.
